Hi,

I think your last two reason should be the top most reason; because sales drive profit and thus business continuity and then expense eat into business profit margin thus threaten business continuity and existence. Well, i think two of this also fall into category of mismanagement.

Good question Novz! Enron was one of the biggest bankruptcies in US history next to Lehman Brothers bankruptcy. It was because of a scandal they started. They hid their "true" worth in their financial statements. They did this by not really disclosing their debts.

Enron executives also manipulated the stock price of the company to their benefit. They told the public that their company is doing well. They've even asked the public to buy more of their shares as these executives unload their shares when the stock price is reaching its peak.

After the scandal had been revealed, investors lost confidence of the company and the stock price plummeted like a house of cards. This had brought the company to failure and to declare bankruptcy.
