Are you a reader of Good House Keeping Magazine? Last July 2009, I got my very first feature under their Money Makeover section. I was happy with the outcome and I was contacted again to further contribute to their growing number of readers.

And so since I knew that my second feature will come out this September, I urgently bought the magazine again to see how it goes.

I bought one copy at the nearby Mini Stop in our office. The September 2009 issue Good House Keeping Magazine cover was no other than the beautiful Lucy Torres-Gomez.

I looked on Managing the Money Crisis section where my article was featured. :)

I was happy that I was featured again together with a known personal finance expert, Alvin T. Tabanag, the author of the book Kaya Mo Pinoy! 12 Steps to Build Wealth on Any Income and the founder of pinoysmartsavers.com, an online learning center for personal money management (like my blog). :)

They gave me a good exposure by having almost the whole page entitled “An Expert’s Take”

And finally in the last page…

Thanks again Good House Keeping Magazine for giving me the chance once again to contribute to your readers.

To get articles, you can subscribe using your favorite RSS feed reader or have them delivered directly to your email address.

tyrone, i remember leaving a comment here that mentions cooperatives. i forgot where it is. hehe. i used to audit a lot of coops in the visayas when i was still with PWC. aside from dividends, they also have this patronage refund. and returns were as high as 14-19%. well, one has to choose wisely the cooperative they’ll join in. badly run coops will get you nowhere.

as to being featured, my congrats again!

Tyrone, its nice to see that your opinion is being heard at newspapers. Honestly speaking, your blog has nice articles on personal finance. And in times like this savings and managing our own finances is very important.

Here’s is some food for thought: Is savings via insurance savings better or investing using savings?

    Tyrone Reply:

First of all, congratulate yourself for having read that book. It was an eye opener for me too and I don’t want to be working too much when I reached the age of 40s to 50s. I hope to be semi-retired by that time with some assets working for me.

I was not born with a silver spoon too. I would encourage you to read some articles in this blog as you would know a lot of things.

As a start, I would like to refer to you on the article about “where to invest your extra cash”.

    http://www.millionaireacts.com/332/where-to-invest-extra-cash.html

It gives you options on where to invest your extra cash and it would start your journey as an average investor like me. It has a lot of links to other articles so be sure to read it.

When you finished it, continue reading some of the articles here and post your questions as comments. I would be glad to answer them and be able to help you.
