What you don’t care about spending?
We are talking too much about frugality and ways to save money here. I’ve enumerated several ways on saving money in different situations - whether be it on work, at home, or during leisure times.
It’s not always about saving because sometimes we need to spend to get the economy going. If we don’t spend, then basically businesses will shut down because they won’t be generating any sales. Spending somehow have an impact on how we contribute to our economy. It propels business growth and as we help on increasing business growth, we also help on decreasing unemployment rate.
When it comes to spending, some of us are frugal when buying clothes but a big spender when it comes to gadgets. Some of us are big spenders on foods but frugal in gadgets. Some are big spenders in terms of providing relaxation to themselves such as spas, coffees and leisure activities such as traveling to different places but frugal in clothes and gadgets. Some are watchful on their expenses on clothes but they buy a lot of expensive books to read to feed their minds.
I’ve met a businessman who don’t mind spending thousands of dollars just to hear the seminars of famous motivational speakers like Tony Robbins and T. Harv Eker. He usually don’t only spend his money on the seminar fee itself but also the airplane fare cost of going to the locations of these seminars as they were usually held outside of the country more often in Singapore. He said that the wisdom that he acquires in these seminars were more than enough than what he spent. I asked him what’s the largest amount he spent on a single seminar and he said it was P120,000 (~US$ 2,500). That was seminar fee alone excluding food and plane fare costs! Wow!
When it comes to spending, what are the things that you don’t care to splurge your money with? I would start it by telling my case. I am frugal when it comes to clothes. I don’t mind buying unbranded clothes as long as I am confortable to wear them and I look good on it. Most of the time, I am frugal on food but there are also times that I don’t care spending on them. I am a big spender on gadgets especially mobile phones because I’m a fanatic of it but my frugality knocks on me as I rarely buy brand new since gadgets’ value depreciates very fast. I also don’t care riding a cab on my way home most especially if I feel tired and sleepy after work. I am also not watchful about my cellphone bills as long as it won’t aggregate to a maximum of P2k monthly but I am watchful about my credit card bills.
How about you, what are the things that you don’t care about spending your money? I would like to hear your comments.
