this is a picture that shows how selfish we are when we have so much and we take it all and dont give any back we have so much that we are blinded by it am only student but soon ill be a photographer and ill go and change this damn world

I saw that photo a long time ago, but just now I hear about the photographer’s suicide. I assume that after taking the picture he had helped the child. (I hope). I also assume that it’s not the specific event that caused him to kill himself, but the knowing of such suffering existing in the world, and knowing that there is nothing you can do about it.

There will always be suffering, crime, wars, poverty and death in the world. Without those, we couldn’t appreciate or enjoy anything in life – happiness, wealth, peace, success…

If we didn’t have to die, there wouldn’t be anything to live for. I think I’ve made my point.

I’m sorry for having that picture messed up your evening. I just thought of putting that picture since it won a prestigious Pulitzer award and it depicts how blessed some of us are compared to that situation. And we should really be thankful for that.

I read that the journalist who took that picture killed himself shortly after taking that picture. He was not able to control the deep depression that he feels seeing the condition of that child.

you can really do the motivational posts well. this is a nice post that shows that it is not about the money. but then i believe that we are a product od our upbringing and if one was brought up believing that money counts alot, there is very little that anyone can say to dissuade him, until the lesson is taught to him practically.

And by the way tyrone, did you have to put up that picture?? it has kinda messed ip my evening, and do you know that the guy that took that picture killed himse;f shortly after?? fft

If you don’t appreciate the things you have while you have them it will hurt a lot more when you miss them because it will be too late to appreciate them as they become just memories.

Really touching stuff here.. and the picture hurted me much.. actually the photographer died since he cannot able to digest what happened.. and people don’t know what happened to that child…

very inspiring post sir! you’re right, a lot of people do not realize that they are more lucky than most people in the world. I also saw that video by Nick months ago, very inspiring xa; in spite of having lost limbs and arms, he still sees the beauty in life and finds time to inspire others =)
