what is the name of that bank, if you don’t mind sharing? because instead of sitting my savings in 1.5% per annum regular savings account. I could have atleast put my money to account with much higher interest rate.. (preferrably not a rural bank of course)

is that HSBC or China bank?

Hi Zalds, that would depend on your initial deposit as we all know these banks have minimum maintaining balance for their high yielding accounts. How much would that be? As for me, I availed a special savings account that has an interest of a time deposit and credits the interest on my account on a monthly basis and has a minimum maintaining balance of 100K. The catch is that withdrawals are limited to 4 per month. If I exceeded, then the interest will be lowered. Unfortunately, the said deposit account is no longer being offered by the bank now.

good thing you have other sources of income (passive incomeat that)…but i think the prob with the current crisis is that american banks that received taxpayers’ money are trying to fool the people. billions of dollars was infused in their vaults but they are not circulating the money to boost consumer spending and uplift nonetheless the economy…they are even tightening their loan services, and the billions of dollars given to them from the bailout are used by these fools to straighten up their ledgers.
