Power of Positive Thinking

You’ve heard a lot about positive thinking. You are what you think. Mind over body. Using the law of attraction coupled with action and determination, thinking positively may bring us to our dreams closer. As Paulo Coelho said in his book entitled The Alchemist: “When you want something, all the universe conspire in helping you to achieve it.”

Nowadays, with the current global financial crisis and with all the problems that we are facing, positive thinking sometimes is hard to achieve. What can you do to alleviate your situation and continue thinking positively?

1. Always think and use positive words such as “I can” and “I will”. Evoke positive thoughts in dealing and conversing with others. Try to disregard and ignore negative thoughts.

2. Watch movies that will make you feel happy.

3. Read inspiring success stories and inspiring quotes that uplifts your spirit.

4. Smile more.

5. Associate yourself with people who thinks positively.

With all the five things that will help you think positively, I would like to give emphasis to the last. It has been said before that you are the sum of the five people you spend the most time with. If your parents treat you like a bastard, then you will become a rebel and will probably become a bastard too. However, if you are always loved and cared for by your parents, then chances are you will also become loving and caring when you had the chance to have your own family.

If you hang out with ducks, you will quack… but if you hang out with eagles, you will soar!

Positive thinking is not wishful thinking. A wishful thinker is a dreamer who doesn’t take action. Positive thinking is backed by action and you will feel the energy of people who believe in you and support your dreams.

Positive thinking is contagious.

If you think positively, you can pick up good positive vibrations and you will be desirable to most people. To attract people, you must be attractive. To attract powerful people, you must be powerful. To attract positive people, you must think positvely. Always remember that if you can become, you can attract.

So start looking for people who will follow your vision and are willing to grow together with you. Believe in yourself! You can do it! Trust your mind and heart!

I would like to leave the readers with these great thoughts from the book that I read:

Your mind becomes impressed with your self-estimate, and your convictions govern your actions. You small estimate of yourself will make a pigmy’s impress upon your conviction and you will be barred from doing the work of a giant. You must think yourself a giant before you can do a giant’s work.

  1. I’m not a firm believer about the law of attraction as no scientific basis has been conducted to prove this nor I believe about the-universe-conspiring-to-help-you crap. Outcome of our lives depends on our actions, while I do believe positive thinking can somehow affect our decisions, thinking positive alone that not necessarily mean success.

  2. My Pinoy businessman-friend subscribes to positive thinking. Judging by her material success, it looks like positive thinking works for her. Great blog. Carry on!

  3. Great article.. Our mind is one of our powerful assets. It creates our feeling toward something. So if you think positively then act positively the result will also be positive. What you think and feel today creates your future. In the film “The Secrets”, it shows how powerful our mind is.

  4. Hi M. A., What we dwell upon become our an act, what we act constantly becomes a habit, and a habit in the long scheme of things become a character, and character leads to your destiny. Good thoughts. Positive thoughts.

  6. when my wife and our son were still admitted in the hospital, my wife and I used to argue because she always said, “hindi ko kaya”, “mahirap” and the likes. I made her understand that thinking of negative things couldn’t help her instead it will only pull her down.

  7. Nice post. In my own personal experience, I am pretty balanced with optimism and realism.

I also exercise as a personal ruling, the law of affirmation.

  8. I’m a firm believer of the law of attraction and power of positive thinking. I’ve proven it myself. Whenever I want something, I can feel that it will happen and it happens. During certain times I can even feel when. I write my goals and whenever I focus on achieving it, it always happen on time. I even tried experimenting it with other people without their knowledge making them believe that they won a company raffle (telling them that I have i have internal access to the draw)and it is bound to be announced. The person believed in me 100% and the next day, he did won the raffle – a trip to Hong Kong for 2.
