Yourself is the most important thing that needs investment. Without you working, you cannot generate enough income to sustain your needs and wants.
You must therefore invest in yourself. Try to improve yourself and be able to face the challenges that lies ahead with great strength and confidence so that in the end, you’ll end up as a winner!
INVEST IN YOUR MIND. Wisdom and knowledge have been considered as the most important treasures that a person can possess. Material treasures like money, cars, houses, etc. can be stolen but wisdom and knowledge can’t be. Feed your mind with it. Try to spend your leisure time reading educational books and playing educational games. Increase your intelligence.
INVEST IN YOUR CONFIDENCE. A lot of people have inhibitions. Some people fear of speaking in public. Some are afraid in socialization. Try to overcome these fears. Nothing can be brought up with these fears. Learn to be confident. How? If you think “power dressing” can bring you confidence, then buy clothes that will enhance your looks. If you think enrolling in a public speaking class is the solution, then enroll in that class. If you think acquiring further wisdom and knowledge can uplift your confidence, then do it. There are many ways on how to improve your confidence, you just have to find the right solution for you.
INVEST IN YOUR FAMILY, RELATIVES and FRIENDS. We are social human beings. As the saying goes, “no man is an island”, each and everyone of us needs a fellow human being in order to survive. Learn to be friendly, sociable and approachable.
INVEST IN YOUR FUTURE. I always believe in the concept of “delayed gratification”. That is, delaying your satisfaction now for a greater satisfaction in the future. Pay yourself first when you receive your paycheck. Set aside a fixed amount for your future.
INVEST IN YOUR SPIRITUAL NEEDS. Above all, I do believe that there is one Supreme Being out there guiding us. We must thank Him for all the blessings and ask for His guidance. I believe in Karma, and as this professor Ryan Pausch who was afflicted with cancer once said “If you live your life the right way, the Karma will take care of itself. If you lived properly, your dreams will come to you.”
