Each day that we wake up, we are bombarded with choices. Should I take a bath first or eat breakfast? Should I watch tv first or sleep early?
When we are about to take our course on college, we are left with a lot of choices to make. What course should I take in? What do I want to be when I grew up? What would be my future job?
When we are settling down, we are left to choose which one of them should I marry? Will she be right for me?
Each time we make a choice, we make our future. It’s based on these choices that we start to mold ourselves. Each choice that we make, it corresponds to a consequence.
Our choice enables us to weigh several options. And each option has its own weight on us. If we choose to be “this”, then “so be it”.
Are you contended where you are now? If “no” is your answer, then you need to make a choice. You are the person who has to decide. You are the person who makes up your mind. Whether you’ll lead or will be left behind. Whether you’ll strive hard for that goal or will linger behind. It’s all your choice.
Will you accept the conditions as they exist or will you be responsible in changing them? Again, it’s your choice. Destiny is not a matter of chance. It’s a matter of choice. It is not a thing that we keep on waiting but it is a thing that has to be achieved. As George Eliot says, “The strongest principle of growth lies in human choice.” I would say, “we are what we choose.”
As a final note, I would leave this quote from a friend. Read it carefully as it is some sort of a tongue twister:
“If you want to have what you’ve never had, then you must do what you’ve never done; because if you only do what you’ve always been doing, you will only have what you’ve always been having.”
Again, it’s a CHOICE.
